Early season hunts can be hit or miss.  You can really slam ’em and take advantage of the higher limits or the geese can play hide and seek like a champ.

With the recent northwest winds and the cooler temperatures, we started to see migrating geese come into the area.  With similar weather forecasted for today, we set up a migrator spread and waited for birds to come through at 30,000 feet.

Migrator hunts can be tough in regards to longer sits in the blind, but the reward can be great when you watch decoy-shy lesser Canada geese turn on a dime and wing-their way straight down into our decoy spread.  And that’s exactly what we got to see today, along with some giant Canadas who were fooled into shooting range.

We’d like to thank our clients today for hunting with us and we look forward to the regular season which gets underway on 9/26.  We are fully booked up on the first two weekends of the season, but still have some weekday openings available-and our private sloughs are loaded with ducks right now.  Book your hunt today!  Call 320-269-9136
